Jalaad Al Shahania (Jaafer ASF x Djainka Des Forges) captured the fourth race on the card, The Late Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Fuhaid Cup, a Purebred Arabian Novice Plate for 4yo+ over 1400m, Class 5, contested by 11 runners. The six-year-old grey, representing Al Shahania Stud and trained by Rudy Nerbonne, had been knocking on the door with four consecutive placings this season and duly broke through on his fifth start, settling midfield before unleashing a decisive late surge to prevail by a quarter of a length under Lukas Delozier. Dabas (AF AlBahar) set a strong tempo from the outset and dominated the lead throughout, opening a sizeable advantage and appearing set for victory as he straightened for home. However, Jalaad Al Shahania began to close relentlessly in the straight, gradually eroding the margin before collaring the long-time leader inside the final 50m to snatch the verdict. Dabas, owned by Abdulrahman Batal Al-Otibi and trained by Nayef Batal Al-Otibi, stayed on gamely under Damien Morin to secure second, finishing 2¼ lengths ahead of Lattam. The latter, racing for Abdulrahamn Fahad Al-Attiyah and prepared by Hamad Al-Jehani, was held up for most of the trip before producing a late charge under Pierre-Charles Boudot to take third.
