Ray'q triumphs in a thrilling HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani Trophy

In the penultimate and feature race of the day, Ray'q (Azadi x Zahwah) returned to the winner’s enclosure with a thrilling victory in the HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani Trophy for 4YO+ Local Purebred Arabians over 2100m. The 6YO horse, owned by H.E. Sheikha Reem bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani and trained by Rudy Nerbonne, secured his sixth win in just 10 starts after a fierce battle in the home straight. Jockey Olivier d'Andigne delivered a determined ride as Ray’q fought stride for stride with stablemate Aneed Al Shahania before edging ahead by a head at the line, completing a double for the rider.
Galeb Al Shahania (Burning Sand) dictated the pace for most of the race, but Ray'q and Aneed Al Shahania stormed past in the home straight, pulling well clear of the rest of the field. The final stages turned into a thrilling duel between the two stablemates carrying the same colours, with Ray’q just managing to get his head in front. Aneed Al Shahania (Azadi), ridden by Lukas Delozier, completed a one-two for H.E. Sheikha Reem bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani and trainer Rudy Nerbonne, while Layeq (T M Fred Texas), owned by Khalifa bin Sheail Al Kuwari, trained by Julian Smart and ridden by Pierre Charles Boudot, finished a distant third, five lengths behind.
The fourth tight finish on the day came in race four as Al Shahania Stud’s Sheteer (Assy x Insheragh) displayed remarkable determination to land a hard-fought victory in the Purebred Arabian Handicap (75-95) for 4YO+ over 2300m. Trained by Rudy Nerbonne and ridden by Pierre Charles Boudot, the talented runner edged out Khalil Du Croate (No Risk Al Maury) in a nail-biting finish, securing the win by a short head. M'tawa El Saa'yeb (Jaafer ASF) set the early pace, with Alhafar (Al Mamun Monlau) in pursuit. Ikef De Bozouls (No Risk Al Maury) made a bold move from the outside to take third in the middle stages. As the field turned for home, several runners launched their bids, but it was Sheteer and Khalil Du Croate who emerged strongest. Locked in a relentless duel over the final 200m, Sheteer managed to push his head in front at the wire and win by a short head. Shamlowl (Al Mamun Monlau) stayed on well to finish third, two lengths behind the runner-up.
Basheer Al Shahania secures second straight win in dominant style

Basheer Al Shahania (Jaafer ASF x Bombe De Ghazal) continued his winning form with a commanding performance in the penultimate race of the card, a Purebred Arabian Graduation Plate for 5YO+ over 1900m. The 5-year-old horse, owned by H.E. Sheikha Reem bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani and trained by Rudy Nerbonne, secured his second consecutive victory under jockey Lukas Delozier, finishing two lengths clear of his nearest rival. Mared Al Jasra (Mared Al Sahra) set the pace of the four-runner race, with Basheer Al Shahania flanking him closely while Tareq (AF AlBahar) and Lagtaifia (Asraa Min Albarq) tracked behind in a compact field. The race unfolded at a steady tempo, with the order remaining unchanged until the final bend where Basheer Al Shahania made his decisive move, accelerating into the lead. In the home straight, he maintained his advantage with confidence, while Tareq finished strongly to claim second place, overtaking Mared Al Jasra, who was a further one and a half lengths behind in third.
Makarem Al Shahania breaks maiden in strong fashion

In Race 2, the Local Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate for 4-6YOs over 1400m, Makarem Al Shahania (Munjiz x Unwa) built on her runner-up finish last time to secure a well-earned maiden victory on her fifth career start. Owned and bred by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, the 5YO mare was saddled by Rudy Nerbonne and guided to victory by Lukas Delozier, scoring by two and a quarter lengths. Agshar (Al Mourtajez) initially took the lead before Taimoor (Nizam) assumed command and maintained his position through the early and middle stages while the eventual winner travelled in mid-division. As the field entered the home straight, Agshar closed in on the leader, but it was Makarem Al Shahania who produced a sharp turn of foot, surging past them both to win decisively. Husam Al Shahania (Munjiz) finished second, while Mared Al Zaeem (Mared Al Sahra) took third, half a length behind the runner-up, just half a length ahead of Taimoor and Maraweeh Al Sahaab (AF AlBahar), who were separated by narrow margins, a neck and a further neck, in a tight battle for minor honors.
Nah'ash Al Shahania powers home for second career victory

Al Shahania Stud’s homebred Nah'ash Al Shahania (AF Al Buraq x Insheragh), came into the third race in the card having had form figures of 3-1-2 in his last three starts and continued his solid form to secure his second career win in the Purebred Arabian Novice Plate for 4YO+ over 1400m. Trained by Rudy Nerbonne and ridden by Lukas Delozier, the 5YO gelding delivered a commanding performance, surging past his rivals in the home straight to win by three lengths.
In a six-runner contest, Marnan (Majd Al Arab) set the early pace, followed by Belgaro (AF AlBahar) while Lavinia De Carrere (Nieshan) and Tulaitila (Al Mourtajez) raced behind. The order remained unchanged until the home straight where Belgaro made a strong challenge. However, Nah'ash Al Shahania, who had patiently bided his time at the rear, unleashed an impressive turn of foot, sweeping past the field to claim victory. Tulaitila finished second while Belgaro was a further three and a half lengths behind in third.
The Purebred Arabian Novice Plate for 4YO+ over 2100m witnessed an impressive performance from Basheer Al Shahania (Jaafer ASF x Bombe De Ghazal), who showed plenty of improvement on his fourth start this season. The H.E. Sheikha Reem bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani-owned 5YO was given a well-timed ride by Lukas Delozier, securing victory for trainer Rudy Nerbonne, who recorded a one-two as he saddled the runner-up, Jalaad Al Shahania (Jaafer ASF), as well.

The trio travelled smoothly at a steady pace, maintaining their positions. As they approached the final bend, Basheer Al Shahania and Jalaad Al Shahania pulled clear from the rest of the field, engaging in a fierce head-to-head battle down the home straight. In the closing stages, Basheer Al Shahania found an extra gear, accelerating strongly to win by one and a half lengths. Meanwhile, Muna (TM Fred Texas) produced the best of the rest, finishing a further five lengths behind in third.

The Al Zubara Trophy, a 2000m contest for Local Purebred Arabians aged 4YO+, saw Aneed Al Shahania (Azadi x Al Anga) extend his flawless record with an impressive victory. Owned by H.E. Sheikha Reem bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani and trained by Rudy Nerbonne, the 5YO runner displayed his trademark finishing kick under Lukas Delozier, powering home to secure his fourth consecutive win by one and a half lengths. Bakir (Amer), the Wathnan Racing representative trained by Alban de Mieulle, finished a game second under Tomas Lukasek, while Layeq (T M Fred Texas), owned by Khalifa bin Sheail Al Kuwari and trained by Julian Smart, crossed the line a further one and a half lengths behind in third under Pierre Charles Boudot. Aneed Al Shahania’s commanding performance further reinforced his standing as a leading contender among Local Purebred Arabians.

After her unanimous success at the Souq Waqif Int. Show, Arabella Al Shahania wins the Gold Champion Yearling Filly title unanimously in Doha on her debut in the world’s most prestigious series of events: the Global Champions Arabians Tour. With Giacomo Capacci on the lead, Arabella was the class winner and the highest score of the first show day achieving great marks for her beauty and refinement.
In the Local Purebred Arabian Conditions for horses aged four years and older over 2100m, Ray'q (Azadi x Zahwah) delivered another impressive performance to continue his flawless run this season. Owned by H.E. Sheikha Reem bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani and trained by Rudy Nerbonne, the 6YO horse showcased his consistent brilliance, securing his fifth career win from eight starts and his second in as many outings this season. Ridden confidently by Lukas Delozier, Ray'q was settled off the pace before making his move in the closing stages. The race unfolded into a thrilling contest as Ray'q battled with Layeq (T M Fred Texas) down the stretch. In a determined drive to the line, Ray'qedged out his rival by half a length to take the win. Razy (Amer), who was also well in contention, finished strongly to claim third place, a further half a length behind Layeq.
